Zinchem Products

Zinc Oxide:

Zinc oxide is produced by melting and vaporizing zinc metal. On contact with the air, the zinc vapour combines with oxygen to form the zinc oxide.

Applications:

Zinc oxide is used in the manufacturing of Paint, Rubber, Ceramics, Chemicals, Floor Tiles, Matches, Dental Cements, Soaps and Textiles and as a Micronutrient for animal and Plant Growth.

Zinc produces various grades of zinc oxide including Pharmaceutical, Paint, Rubber, Palletized, PA Coated, Feed Grade, Fertilizer/Agricultrual and Submicronic grades.

Zinc Sulphates:

Leaching zinc in sulphuric acid produces zinc sulphate. Once this process has been completed, the solution is purified to remove excess heavy metals and impurities. The zinc sulphate is then either stored as a solution for resale or processed by spray drying into mono hydrate powder or Hepta hydrate crystal, depending on the required zinc content or level of water content.

Applications:

Zinc sulphate can be used as a zinc salt in the preparation of inorganic zinc salts. In agriculture, it is used as a trace element supplement where soil deficiencies for zinc exist. It is similarly used in the animal feed industry to provide trace elements for animal nutrition. It can also be used in the preservation of wood and animal hides. In mining applications, it is used for froth flotation of minerals. Zinc sulphate is also used for zinc plating.

Zinc sulphate is supplied in three basic forms:

  • Zinc sulphate Mono Hydrate with 35% Zinc content
  • Zinc sulphate Hepta Hydrate with 22% Zinc content
  • Zinc sulphate solution 11.5% Zinc content

Zinc Alloys:

Zinc Alloys are used for pressure die casting, hot chamber casting, spin casting and gravity casting or as an additive in continuous galvanizing.

Zinc Dust:

Zinchem uses a unique designed Zinc Dust plant to produce a range of zinc dust with the highest purity and a controlled particle size. The range complies with ASTM D520 standard. The Zinc Dust is suitable for both organic and inorganic primers. The complete range ensures that the different dry film thickness for a range of zinc primers can be attained.
